Chronic Pain Management

Chronic pain — generally defined as pain persisting beyond the normal healing period of three to six months — is a complex medical condition that affects millions of Americans and can significantly diminish quality of life, emotional wellbeing, and functional capacity. At Coastal Spine & Pain, we recognize that chronic pain is not simply an extension of acute pain but rather a distinct condition involving changes in the nervous system, inflammatory pathways, and in many cases, psychological and social factors that must all be addressed for effective treatment. Dr. Webb is dual board-certified in both Pain Medicine and Anesthesiology, bringing a depth of training specifically designed to evaluate and manage complex, long-standing pain conditions that have not responded to initial treatments. Our approach to chronic pain management is inherently multimodal, meaning we draw from a range of therapeutic strategies rather than relying on any single intervention. This may include interventional procedures such as epidural injections, nerve blocks, and radiofrequency ablation; medication management with careful attention to efficacy, side effects, and compliance; coordination with physical therapy and rehabilitation providers; and referral for psychological support when appropriate. We believe that every patient’s pain experience is unique, and our treatment plans reflect that individualized philosophy. If you have been living with pain that has not adequately responded to prior treatment, we encourage you to schedule a consultation so we can evaluate your condition and discuss the full range of options available to you.
